BroadwayWorld is saddened to report the passing of Tony Award-winning director, Mel Shapiro. Shapiro died on December 23, 2024 at the age of 89.

Gypsy on Broadway has canceled this evening's (December 26 at 8pm) performance of Gypsy on Broadway starring Audra McDonald due to illness in the company.

Star Cynthia Erivo recently revealed that she collaborated with composer Stephen Schwartz to create an original song for Elphaba, to be featured in Wicked: For Good.
