A play by Simon Stephens. Based on the novel by Mark Haddon, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time follows fifteen-year-old Christopher as he uncovers the mysterious murder of his neighbor’s dog. Amid his investigation, he discovers hard truths about his family while navigating social norms and communication with others. This seven-time Olivier Award-winning play is a thrilling adventure! Directed by Salvatore Mannino.

RELAXED PERFORMANCE: Saturday, June 3 at 3:00 PM
This relaxed performance provides a more accessible and inclusive experience for neurodivergent individuals. Here's what audience members can expect from the relaxed performance:

  • More flexibility for audience behavior, allowing for movement, vocalizations, and sensory accommodations.
  • Dimmed house lights upon entrance and exit. House lights will remain up throughout the performance.
  • Lower sound levels for sound effects throughout the performance.
  • A designated quiet area for individuals needing a break or a calmer environment during the performance, and staff at the doors to help guests enter and exit the theatre.
  • Pre-show materials on social media and our website to introduce the theatre experience and expected social interactions, along with the story of the play, so neurodivergent individuals can prepare and feel more comfortable. (coming soon)
  • Audience members are welcome to cover their eyes or ears, move to a different seat if available, or take a break from the show to manage sensory overload.

Content trigger warnings:

  • This production contains the following effects: strobe lighting, smoke and haze effects, high-intensity video and lighting effects, and loud intense sound effects including white noise. Le Petit Theatre will do its best to decrease the intensity of these effects during the relaxed performance, but they will still be present as they are part of the storytelling.
  • There is strong language, swearing, and references to sex.
  • This production contains the following emotional triggers: violent behavior, domestic violence, self-injury, meltdowns, sensory overload, and negative attitudes toward autistic people.
