Off The Grid Starring: Brooke Volkert and Carlos Knoop Described as “a post-apocalyptic near future examination of grief and survival,” I began writing Off the Grid in 2019 after inspiration harvested after seeing a local production of Beckett’s Endgame. I endeavored to explore my grief after the loss of one of my oldest friends set within the backdrop of our shared pervasive fear of living through the crumbling of civilization, climate collapse, and the approaching end of times. My idea of a post-apocalyptic story was a simple one, devoid of the bombast of television and movie depictions -two actors in a room asking the question: If you survive, losing the majority of who and what you care about, how do you find hope and continue living with such total grief? I hope you can join us as we ask these questions and search for solutions.
