Bill Haley and his Comets burst onto the music scene in the early 1950s and were the first group of musicians to bring rock and roll to the world’s attention. With Bill’s signature split curl hairstyle and the band’s matching dinner jackets and super energetic stage presence, many fans considered them to be as revolutionary in the 1950s as the Beatles and Rolling Stones were in the 1960s. Their single “Rock Around the Clock” was featured in the smash teen movie Blackboard Jungle in 1955 and became an instant number one hit.
Bill and the Comets starred in two of the first ever movies about the rock music revolution, Rock Around the Clock and Don’t Knock the Rock. The Comets began touring the globe and creating hit singles such as “Shake, Rattle & Roll,” “See Ya Later Alligator,” “Rip It Up,” “Rock the Joint” and “Crazy Man Crazy.” As their fame increased, their catchy music was featured prominently in movies throughout the 1970s and 1980s, as well as the popular TV show “Happy Days”.
With fans aged 1 to 100, Bill Haley’s Comets continue to perform every year at theatres, clubs, fairs and casinos all over the world for rock and roll fans. Their energetic live performance is one you definitely won’t want to miss on our stage this spring
Three-time Emmy Award winning TV host comedian Dave Konig's strong energy and classy delivery has been called “a throwback to Milton Berle.” Don’t miss your chance to laugh out loud!
