The eccentric La Putts family (Buddy, Yvette, Grandpa & Grandma and two somewhat average children) is desperately scrambling to keep their family business from foreclosure…an old fashion/out-of-date and out-of-the-way hotel offering peace, tranquility and seclusion from what is known as “The American Rat Race”. A second mortgage is definitely out of the question since they are unable to pay off the first. Then one fine day a charming “pharmaceutical salesman” (Harry Warner) stumbles upon the secluded hide-away. Enamored with its sequestered location, Harry recognizes its potential promising monthly sales meetings, lots of guests and lots of dollars. Buddy believes his prayers have been answered. Now who doesn’t believe in miracles? Throw in a few of “Harry’s friends”, his simple-minded/ditsy fiancé (Mara Dingle), a private detective with delusions of grandeur (Adrian Snoops), a pair of 80-year-old newly weds, the Feds, and the family parrot (Jose) that may be too smart for its own feathers, and you are in for a wild ride as the La Putts family ultimately discover they have been duped and are now personally involved with a notorious drug cartel. They soon learn what it means to stick together and fight for their lives.
