Amplified Arts Company Presents Jane Austen's Emma.Emma Woodhouse is Jane Austen's most maddening and endearing heroine. Clever and effervescent, young Emma is also a bit too accustomed to having her own way, although only her friend Mr. Knightley seems to notice. This highly theatrical adaptation of one of Jane Austen's greatest novels tells the story of Emma Woodhouse, handsome, clever, and rich, and the other families in and around the village of Highbury.Nearly 200 years after its publication, Emma continues to delight, both as a coming-of-age tale and a lively satire of Austen's elegant and quirky characters.Adapted by Michael Bloom and directed by Shelly Hudson, AMP's Producing Artistic Director, Emma combines Austen's lively comedy of manners with ageless stories of love - secret, unrequited, and fulfilled - and beautiful Regency fashion and etiquette.Tickets will be on sale through the Claremont Opera House, and the show will open at the Claremont Opera House on July 21st.This production of "Emma" is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH LTD, a Concord Theatricals Company.
