As part of it's 2024-2025 Acuff Season and in collaboration with the world-renowned SITI Company, the dept. of Theatre & Dance presents LEARNING TO SWIM. This production is conceived by SITI Emeritus artists Will Bond, Darron West, and Ellen Lauren and directed by Will Bond, written by legendary Charles L. Mee, and devised by the students of Austin Peay State University. This movement play will "get past traditional forms of psychological realism, to bring into the frame of the plays material from history, philosophy, insanity, inattention, distractedness, judicial theory, sudden violent passion, lyricism, the National Enquirer, nostalgia, longing, aspiration, literary criticism, anguish, confusion, inability" (Charles L. Mee). Don't miss this beautiful collaboration between one of the most lauded theatre companies in modern history and the next generation of theatre artists.
