Nobody, No Time, a new work by Carlyle Brown, explores the life of Bert Williams, a groundbreaking Vaudeville performer celebrated for his comedic talent yet marked by the complexities of racial stereotypes. Set in the early twentieth century, the play examines Williams’ legacy and the contradictions of his success as a headliner in the Ziegfeld Follies. As ILLUSION THEATER marks its 50th anniversary, this production goes inside the world of one of the era's most talented figures, reflecting on fame, identity, and the struggle for authenticity in performance.
