In the near-and-turbulent future, Joe and Mary’s eldest boy Chris has been taken into “protective custody” by Homeland Security. It seems the lad’s public statements are having a de-stabilizing effect on the church and society at large. Gurney’s wit is sharp and omnipresent in this smart, satirical re-telling of one of the world’s greatest stories. And he’s mixed in a strong dash of truth to spice up the tonic of laughter.
The evening ends with a fun-filled, mini-cabaret as a flavorful nightcap to the festivities.
