Baltimore teenager Tracy Turnblad has big hair, a big heart and a big passion to dance. Winning a role as a regular on the popular Corny Collins Show, Tracy is transformed from social outcast to celebrity. She uses her new-found status to launch a campaign to integrate the show and in the process wins the affection of heartthrob Link Larkin. A fun-filled social commentary on teenage angst and racial injustice in the 1960s set to an irresistible toe-tapping score.
