To say the least, life since March, 2020 has been a unique chapter in contemporary global history. The outbreak of Covid-19 on a worldwide scale has posed the greatest threat to human continuity since the invention of nuclear weaponry. The pandemic and attendant life under lockdown have profoundly affected how we conduct our daily lives. Our necessary isolation has not eliminated our need for human connection. How can we work? How do we eat? How do we date? How can we retain a sense of community? How can we create a future that is less toxic? The deadly disease is forcing us to reflect on the most basic questions concerning life and mortality. In short: Where do we go from here? All of the above questions are posed, and some are answered, in the new musical entertainment from actor-vocalist-keyboardist-playwright-composer-lyricist Ana Guigui, Where Do We Go from Here? A Pandemic Cabaret. Its song cycle spans a number of genres, from pop to blues to tango and more.Directed by Rod Menzies. Presented by Whitefire Theatre Solofest 2021.
