The SheLA Summer Theater Festival is the premier festival for new, original, creative works by women, trans, & non-binary playwrights and composers in Los Angeles. This July, it will present one original full-length musical, and four new full-length plays. Ink and Paint, A New Musical by Danielle E. Moore A new musical about the real disney princesses—the women whose art brought vibrance, life, and character to some of the studio’s most groundbreaking animated films. Break by Caroline Ullman A comedy about navigating friendships and relationships in your early 20s, and knowing when to say goodbye. Here Comes the Night by Lisa Kenner Grissom A play about the abortion divide, and how far female friendship can go to bridge it. Zora and Langston by Imani Mitchell A true tale of art, rivalry, and friendship in the literary heart of the Harlem Renaissance. All shows have two in-person performances, and select shows will have a digital performance, viewable online for one week following the Festival!
