Out of My Mind is a poignant film that follows the journey of Melody Brooks, a sixth grader with cerebral palsy who, despite being non-verbal and using a wheelchair, possesses a brilliant mind and quick wit. As she starts to engage in mainstream education with the help of a compassionate teacher, Melody demonstrates the significance of her voice beyond traditional communication. The film features performances by Phoebe-Rae Taylor, Jennifer Aniston, Rosemarie DeWitt, Luke Kirby, and Judith Light, and is directed by Amber Sealey. It rounds out the Santa Fe International Film Festival, reflecting powerful themes of diversity and inclusion.
