From Here to Maturity is a hilarious new play from award winning playwright Chambers Stevens. Luke wants to drop out of high school. His Dad reluctantly agrees but on three conditions. (1) Luke gets a job. (2) Luke stops smoking pot. And (3) Luke sits down and watches a classic film with his Dad once a week. His Dad hopes these great works of cinema [Goodfellas, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Citizen Kane] will make Luke a better man. But Luke, well lets just say he has other plans. Risky Business anyone? This coming of college age show is Part of the Hollywood Fringe Festival 2022, #hff22.
WHAT IS HOLLYWOOD FRINGE?
The Hollywood Fringe Festival is one of the world's oldest and largest festival of its kind. HFF22 is a non-profit company that gives 100% of box office revenue back to participants—over $3 million dollars since 2010. The HFF team consider ourselves global because artists come from all over the world to celebrate freedom of expression and community-derived art during our ten day long festival every June.
I am struggling to put into words my personal experiences; amateur or newbies falls far short of the heart felt effort and professionalism i have experienced sitting in the audience. So here is an open invite to join in-person the celebration of raw, real, unpasteurized non-industrialized entertainment.
Sunny Disposition Productions is proud to present their Hollywood Fringe Festival 2022 entry. This short play has been written, performed, and produced by our very own cast and crew, who worked tirelessly over the past year to bring you an unforgettable performance. We hope this show will inspire you and make you look at the world in a different way.
* Please arrive early to your in-person show to allow time to get checked in. Most venues do not allow late seating. Make sure to allow plenty of time to travel to your venue. Tickets are reserved under your name and available at the door of the venue shortly before the performance. You do not need to print out your tickets.
With the number of cases doubling in our neighborhood over the last week to 4%, the Hollywood Fringe is requiring masks at indoor Fringe sponsored events. This will include Fringe Runway & Fringe Cabaret. At our Opening Night Party, Fringe Central, and Awards, we will require masks while inside, including while using the restroom or using indoor facilities. This small gesture of goodwill helps keep you and your audiences safe in the first week of Fringe so that we may all continue performing together in community throughout the Festival dates.
Venues and performances have various masking guidelines, but for the health and safety of performers, regardless of vaccination status, festival organizers strongly encourage every patron to wear a face covering inside the theater.
In short, to attend any Hollywood Fringe event, you must:
Show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result (within 48 hours for PCR, 24 for antigen – home tests are not allowed)
Bring a mask as it’s likely required (surgical or above recommended)
Some venues or performances will require you to wear a mask. Do not question them. This could lead to expulsion from our ticketing system.
