In the 1960s she and her first husband, Gerry Goffin, wrote more than two dozen hits for numerous artists. Success as a performer began in the 1970s, when she performed her own songs. Her album Tapestry topped the U.S. chart and remained on the charts for six+ years. She has recorded 25 solo albums with estimated sales of more than 75 million.
