Argyle Theatre is located in Babylon, Long Island (about an hour from midtown Manhattan, via Long Island Railroad) - theatre provides transportation for all performers. All shows rehearse in Manhattan before moving to Long Island for tech/performances.

[TEVYE] male, 40s-50s, Baritone to F. The likable, hard-working, pious dairyman who always tries to see the positive side of life. He is a proud patriarch and father of five daughters, closely raised according to the old scriptures.
[GOLDE] female, 40s-50s. A3 to Eb5. Tevye's strong-willed wife who wishes for her daughters to have good husbands and live easier than she and Tevye.
[TZEITEL] female, 18+ to play late teens/early 20s. B3 to D5. Tevye's eldest daughter, who is madly in love with Motel. She is loyal to her family but typically challenges the town's traditions.
[HODEL] female, 18+ to play late teens/early 20s. B3 to E5. Tevye's second eldest daughter, who becomes involved with Perchik. She eventually leaves Anatevka to join Perchik in Siberia.
[CHAVA] female, 18+ to play 15 to 20. B3 to D5. Tevye's middle daughter who loves to read. Falls in love and runs off with Fyedka, a Russian soldier.
[SHPRINTZE] female, 18+ to play young child. B3 to D5. Tevye's fourth eldest daughter who takes lessons at home from Perchik.
[BIELKE] Female, 18+ to play young child. B3 to D5. Tevye's youngest daughter. Takes lessons at home from Perchik.
[YENTE] female, 40s+. F3 to F5. The meddling matchmaker. She is a widow and village busybody who knows all of the town gossip.
[MOTEL] male, 20s. Character baritone to F#. The poor and meek tailor who shares a deep love with Tzeitel. Sensitive and nervous, but sincere and friendly.
[PERCHIK] male, late 20s. The outspoken student and visitor to Anatevka, who constantly challenges the traditions of the town. He eventually falls in love with Hodel. Baritone.
[LAZAR WOLF] male, 40s+. The feisty, brawny butcher and the town's wealthiest citizen who wishes to marry Tzeitel. Character baritone to F#.
[MORDCHA] The Innkeeper.
[RABBI]
[MENDEL] the Rabbi’s son.
[AVRAM] male, 40s+. Runs the local bookshop and keeps the town advised of all the news in the area. Character/ensemble vocals.
[NACHUM] the beggar.
[CONSTABLE] male, 30s+. Russian military official stationed near Anatevka who knows the villagers well, however he has superficial relationships with the villagers. Ensemble singing only.
[FYEDKA] male, 20s. A strong, young Russian soldier who sees past his military obligations and falls in love with Chava. He challenges Tevye's imposed silence.

[HAROLD HILL] male, 25 to 40, any race/ethnicity. Adept character baritone to F. Our story's unsuspecting protagonist. A con man, traveling under the auspices of a salesman, he eventually falls in love with Marian Paroo. Charismatic and charming.
[MARIAN PAROO] female, 25 to 40, any race/ethnicity. Soaring soprano. The stiff town librarian and music teacher. She is an attractive young lady who eventually falls for Harold Hill. Stuck up. Curious.
[MARCELLUS WASHBURN] male, 30s, character baritenor, any race/ethnicity. Harold's chummy old friend and former con man, he now lives in River City and is trying to settle down.
[MAYOR SHINN] male, 40s-60s, any race/ethnicity. A blustery politician who is all too self-important. Begrudgingly married to Eulalie, he is skeptical of the town rumor mill.
[CHARLIE COWELL] male, 25-45, any race/ethnicity. A traveling salesman who is on to Harold Hill's schemes. Tirelessly attempts to prove to everyone the true con man behind Harold Hill.
[EWART DUNLOP] male, 20s to 40s+, any race/ethnicity. A member of the quartet formed by Harold Hill with a tenor voice. Ewart is married to Maude Dunlop. Second tenor in barbershop quartet. Sings with excellent 4-part harmony/blending.
[OLIVER HIX] male, 20s to 40s+, any race/ethnicity. A baritone in the quartet formed by Hill. Oliver is married to Alma Hix. Baritone in barbershop quartet. Sings with excellent 4-part harmony/blending.
[JACEY SQUIRES] male, 20s to 40s+, any race/ethnicity. The highest tenor in the quartet. Married to Mrs. Squires. High tenor in barbershop quartet. Sings with excellent 4-part harmony/blending.
[OLIN BRITT] male, 20s to 40s+, any race/ethnicity. A citizen of River City and the bass of the quartet formed by Harold Hill. Bass in barbershop quartet. Sings with excellent 4-part harmony/blending.
[TOMMY DJILAS] male, 18+ to play late teens, any race/ethnicity. An attractive, young man from the wrong side of town. He is secretly courting Zaneeta.
[MRS. PAROO] female, 40s-50s, any race/ethnicity. Cheerful and always plotting. An Irish widow and mother to Marian and Winthrop.
[AMARYLLIS] female, age 8 to 12, any race/ethnicity. A slightly bratty piano student of Marion Paroo. Sings well.
[WINTHROP PAROO] male, age 8 to 12, any race/ethnicity. Marian's baby brother, he is very shy because of a noticeable lisp. Embraces Harold Hill and the marching band. Sings well.
[EULALIE MACKECKNIE SHINN] female, 40s+, any race/ethnicity. Mayor Shinn's peacock wife. A serial gossiper and snob, she has trouble keeping her opinions to herself. Character vocals.
[ZANEETA SHINN] female, late teens, any race/ethnicity. The Mayor's fresh-faced daughter who is in love with Tommy. Sweet and outgoing. Appears to be daffy at times.
[ALMA HIX] female, 20s to 40s+, any race/ethnicity. A Pick-a-Little Lady married to Oliver Hix.
[MAUD DUNLOP] female, 20s to 40s+, any race/ethnicity. A Pick-a-Little Lady married to Ewart Dunlop.
[ETHEL TOFFELMIER] female, 20s to 40s+, any race/ethnicity. A comical Pick-a-Little Lady, and Marcellus Washburn's girlfriend.
