What if we could generate world peace with the simple flip of a switch? Futurity, the new folk-rock musical by Csar Alvarez and The Lisps, imagines just such a world. At the height of the Civil War, a soldier named Julian Munro joins forces with inventor and mathematician, Ada Lovelace, to invent a machine that creates peace. It is a story about the power of imagination combined with ingenuity, and the importance of dreaming up the impossible. This hit show enjoyed an extended run by popular demand when it first premiered and proposes that music and storytelling, themselves, are the very machines that might create peace.
