Big Fish - Small Cast Edition Book by John August Music and Lyrics by Andrew Lippa Based on the novel by Daniel Wallace and the Columbia Motion Picture written by John August Directed by Noah Racey Based on the celebrated novel by Daniel Wallace and the acclaimed film directed by Tim Burton, Big Fish - Small Cast Edition, tells the story of Edward Bloom, a traveling salesman who lives life to the fullest and fantastical! Edward’s incredible, larger-than-life stories thrill everyone around him—most of all, his devoted wife, Sandra. But their son Will, about to have a child of his own, is determined to find the truth behind his father’s epic tales of mermaids and giants. Big Fish is a heartfelt, powerful, and truly magical musical that reminds us why we love going to the theatre—for an experience that’s richer, funnier, and BIGGER than life itself. While the story of Big Fish doesn't directly involve Dementia, it is a very relevant topic to the show. The situations that happen in Big Fish often end up tying in with Dementia for many people and their families. Dementia Together cultivates joy while building stronger connections – for those living with dementia, their care partners, and the community. Dementia Togther offers family/care partner education and their life enrichment programming at no charge to participants so that cost is never a barrier to connection and support. A talkback will occur after the performance on Sunday, April 14th. The panel will be hosted by Cyndy Luzinski, executive director and Peggy Budai, SPECAL Professional Education Director of Dementia Together. Funds raised during the run of the show will directly benefit Dementia Together and can be made by cash or check at any performance or online at openstage.com/give/donate and designating “Dementia Together” at checkout during the run of the show.
