Oral Fixation is a monthly live storytelling series for adults featuring regular folks reading aloud their true, personal stories on a certain theme. It takes place on a Monday at the Wyly Studio Theatre in the Dallas Arts District and on a Wednesday at Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff. Dallas’ superhot live storytelling series for adults, Oral Fixation (An Obsession with True Life Tales), will kick off 2015 with an hourlong evening of true, personal stories on the theme, “Slippery Slope.” On January 19th at the Wyly Studio Theatre and on January 21st at Texas Theatre in Oak Cliff, both at 8pm, seven Dallasites will reveal juicy details on times in their lives when things slipped out of their control.
Participants include Monic Reynoso, whose tragic car accident at age 19 left her paralyzed from the chest down, Robert Schmidt who shares how a passion for strippers led him to a life of adultery, Amanda Rodenborg reveals how ignorance quickly turned into oppressive credit card debt, Jay Peeples divulges his first time meeting the opposition in Saudi Arabia, and Donny Hornstein, tells how anger once dominated his life.
