Based on Judith Guest’s highly praised novel, later adapted into an Academy Award winning film in 1980, Ordinary People is the story of an upper middle class family struggling with marital problems, mental health issues and suicide.
Conrad Jarrett had an older brother named Buck, and now Buck is gone. What's left of young Conrad's family, with his successful, well-intentioned father and his beautiful, organized and remote mother, is in terrible jeopardy, as is Conrad himself. They are all "ordinary people" and each is fighting a hard battle. Delving into the essence of a young man, his friends and family, their relationships and survival.
A critic from The New York Times summed up, "The anxiety, despair and joy that is common to every human experience … if Conrad and his family are ordinary people, why then so are we all."
Directed by Jason Leyva, Ordinary People features Zachary Leyva as Conrad, John Pfaffenberger as Cal, Dayna Fries as Beth, Matthew Talton as Lazenby, Joshua Hahlen as Stillman, Taylor Donnelson as Jeannine, Gretchen Hahn as Karen, Danny Macchietto as Dr. Berger, Sean Massey as Salan.
