A tailor-made evening: two regional premieres and the return of the wacky and popular, Chasing Squirrel.
The conclusion of the 2014-2015 Season is the ultimate cherry on top: a tailor-made evening of selections by Artistic Director & CEO Victoria Morgan. "These three pieces are choreographic powerhouses. They exemplify the direction dance is headed and changing the way people think about dance," says Morgan.
Yuri Possokhov, renowned choreographer in residence with San Francisco Ballet, brings Classical Symphony, demonstrating his unique brand of classical ballet--with a twist. Feast of the Gods, by Edwaard Liang, artistic director of neighbor city and frequent collaborate BalletMet Columbus, is a deftly-nuanced, high-energy piece set to the angular yet lush violin works of Ottorino Respighi. Trey McIntyre's Chasing Squirrel completes the forward-thinking evening. Originally created on Cincinnati Ballet for the 2004 Vail Festival, Chasing Squirrel was most recently seen at The Joyce Theater in New York City, and was praised as an "uproarious, testosterone-infused, chaotic delight" by the Cincinnati Enquirer.
