Welcome back to summer, and welcome back to live theatre! The Summer Place is returning to the stage after a year-long hiatus, and we have a whole season of great outdoor performances lined up to celebrate. We are kicking off our season with Summer Lovin, an original musical revue chock-full of summertime Broadway favorites, performed by a talented cast of Chicago-area singers. Audiences will lounge on picnic blankets as we serenade you with classics like Too Darn Hot (Kiss Me, Kate) and Sunday (Sunday in the Park with George). Kick off your shoes and dance in the grass to Another Day of Sun (La La Land) and The Schuyler Sisters (Hamilton). And sing along to hits like In Summer (Frozen) and, of course, the karaoke classic Summer Nights (Grease). Summer Lovin was conceived by Co-Directors Emma Gingold and Jeff Sand, and Music Director Rex Meyer. If those names sound familiar, its because this same team produced Summer Place Theatres 2020 spring fundraiser, where the cast delighted audiences with backwards versions of hit Broadway songs. Summer Lovins 21-person cast and live band are thrilled to get the chance to perform live outdoors at the Wagner Pavilion in Naperville on June 18, 19, and 20 at 7pm.
