The Porch on Windy Hill, the opening production of People’s Light's 50th Anniversary season, is a new play by David M. Lutken, Sherry Stregack Lutken, Lisa Helmi Johanson, and Morgan Morse. Set in the Appalachian mountains, it follows Mira, a biracial Korean American violinist, and her boyfriend Beckett as they seek musical inspiration and reconnect with Mira's estranged grandfather, Edgar. This story explores themes of heritage and healing, accompanied by live performances of traditional Bluegrass and Americana music. The cast includes David M. Lutken as Edgar, EJ Zimmerman as Mira, and Rob Morrison as Beckett, with Sherry Stregack Lutken directing.
