The John Hoey Trio will debut at 54 Below with special guest Benny Benack III, featuring the music of George and Ira Gershwin. John Hoey is a multi-instrumentalist of trumpet, guitar, and voice. He's played and toured with The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Mills Brothers, and will now appear in New York with his Nat “King” Cole inspired trio, playing songs from popular shows including Crazy for You, Nice Work If You Can Get It, and Pardon My English. Benny Benack III is an Emmy-nominated trumpeter and singer who has played iconic New York venues including Birdland, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Mezzrow, Bemelmans Bar at the Carlyle, and currently maintains a weekly residency at Smalls Jazz Club. From the golden age of Broadway with traditional jazz stylings that will be nothing short of s’wonderful, the John Hoey Trio presents A Gershwin Rhapsody.
