Past, present, and future collide on a snowy Christmas Eve for a troubled family of five when their car spins out of control after a Christmas dinner gone awry. Vogel collapses time and space as the children step into their future selves and look back at their shared experiences, revealing what was and what never could be. This hauntingly beautiful story includes music, dance and puppetry as the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of How I Learned to Drive proves that magic can be found in the simplest breaths of life. This production was recorded live in the Sophia Gordon Center without an audience. Covid-19 safety guidelines were observed and are embraced in the production as artistic choices. Actors are socially distanced with their own playing areas and green screens with the production utilizing multiple cameras and creating scenic elements, digitally. The Long Christmas Ride Home is directed by Peter Sampieri.
