"Christmas in the City with Dolley Madison" Hosted by Ousamequin Club at Cole-Yeaton Senior Center

Christmas in the City with Dolley Madison is a a historic opportunity to converse with one of the most esteemed First Ladies in United States history! Dolley Madison— wife to 4th American President James Madison, or The Presidentess, as she was known— regales you with festive tales of Washington City, as well as the escape from the Executive Mansion [White House] during British Invasion! Learn how she protected the portrait of His Excellency George Washington and if you are fortunate, you may even be invited to one of her famous squeezes, the first bipartisan gatherings where legislators were encouraged to mix business with pleasure. Enjoy Dolley's homespun American hospitality!

This Historic Holidays production is free and takes place at Cole-Yeaton Senior Center, 10 Wally Krueger Way, Bridgewater, MA. The event begins at with a meeting and light refreshments at 1:00 pm with performance to follow at 1:30 pm ET. This program is funded in part by a grant from the Bridgewater Cultural Council, a local agency supported by Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
