Prepare to embark on a grand musical tour of Eastern Europe with music of Dvorak, Suk, and Kodaly. The Philharmonic welcomes the return of audience favorite Zuill Bailey, cellist, performing Dvorak’s lush and romantic Cello Concerto in B minor. The cheerful Serenade for Strings composed by Dvorak’s prize pupil, Josef Suk, begins the evening. Zoltan Kodaly’s Dances of Galanta is guaranteed to melt the winter blues with the burning folk energy of the Hungarian melodies.
