THE HITS OF “CHICAGO” TRAVEL TO TEXAS AS ENTERTAINMENT SERIES OF IRVING PRESENTS CHICAGO TRIBUTE BAND: WINDY CITY 

So begins the poem by famed poet and author Maya Angelou, and soon this poem about courage, resilience and strength will be adapted into a new theater piece for children by multidisciplinary artist Paige Hernandez (she/her/hers).

Theatre Three is going 'Somewhere That's Green' this October with an outdoor production of Little Shop of Horrors at the Samuell-Grand Amphitheatre October 5-31, 2021. Directed by Joel Ferrell and Music Directed by Cody Dry, this beloved musical by Alan Menken & Howard Ashman will be produced in the middle of nature - perfect for a fast-growing plant!

Tiny Beautiful Things officially marks Dallas Theater Center's (DTC) return to live performances! The production starts September 8 in the Dee & Charles Wyly Theatre. This is the first live, indoor production at DTC since March 2020.

The American Association of Community Theatre (AACT) is pleased to announce that Rover Dramawerks is producing the AACT NewPlayFest winning play, Proprioception by Marilyn Millstone. The world premiere will open September 10 and run through September 18, 2021 at the Cox Playhouse at 1520 K Ave, Plano, Texas. MainStage Irving-Las Colinas Presents Spine-Tingling Thriller, Bad Seed, As Final Show of 2020-2021 Season

DALLAS, Texas - Due to popular demand, Round Room Live and Cityneon announced JURASSIC WORLD: THE EXHIBITION will extend its North Texas run through January 2, 2022.

After a year of primarily virtual performances, Dallas Children's Theater (DCT) is planning to open its doors to in-person audiences once more. As the world continues to work its way through the many COVID challenges, DCT hopes to offer some reprieve in the form of a family-friendly season focused on Brighter Days. The 2021-2022 season of plays is filled with heartwarming, hopeful tales, and lots of laughter. Warmth and energy sit at the core of each play in this streamlined season beginning with a hearty welcome-back experience titled CIRCO METROPOLIS on September 18.

After a highly successful performance run in 2019, Bright Star returns to The Firehouse Theatre this September as a concert production! Bright Star features over 20 beautiful songs and tells a beguiling tale that unfolds in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina between 1923 and 1945. Billy Cane, a young soldier just home from World War II, meets Alice Murphy, the brilliant editor of a southern literary journal.

After a year of out-of-the-ordinary experiences, Theatre Three's next season is a mix of classic drama, new works, and a celebration of the local talent in DFW. Following a season of streaming, the critically-acclaimed success of the traveling production of The Music Man and because of the ongoing construction at The Quadrangle, the Theatre Three team plans to continue to break the mold with a fully nomadic season. All programming will take place outside of the Theatre Three building at various indoor and outdoor venues.

Dallas Theater Center has announced the return of an in person season complete with their first touring production!

After a long year of streaming, MainStage Irving-Las Colinas returns to performing in-person productions with Me & Jezebel, running July 23-August 7. This three-week run of full-capacity, ticketed shows is directed by B.J. Cleveland and stars Doug Fowler and Bailey Maxwell. Me & Jezebel is a hilarious play based on a true story about Elizabeth Fuller spending four weeks with Bette Davis in her home during a hotel strike in Manhattan.

An eternal love of music has guided Broadway Beltress Janet Dacal through a successful and extensive career. From recording alongside Grammy winning artists to winning her own Drama Desk Award for her role of Carla in IN THE HEIGHTS it's clear to see that Dacal brings her own spice and talent to her projects. With a debut album ready to hit the airwaves Ms. Dacal continues to enjoy every unexpected moment. Currently on the road with THE BAND'S VISIT, I got the chance to talk with the actress about her passion for music and portraying powerhouse women.

It's not a surprise that DFW is proud of their boys! Dallas is in for a pleasant surprise as ALADDIN makes dreams come true at Dallas Summer Musicals. ALADDIN is now onstage at the Music Hall at Fair Park from June 6 through June 23.
