. The rarely-done show is a comic romp through the worlds of Broadway, parenting, child acting, and blind ambition. Press notes call it “the stage mother of all musicals!” Michelle Davis directs the production. Tickets are $15-$28 and may be purchased at www.act3productions.org.
Ruthless!, with book and lyrics by Joel Paley and music by Norman Laird, ran off- Broadway in 1992. Winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical and the Drama Desk Award, the show developed a cult following and was revived off-Broadway this summer. Described as “fun for the whole dysfunctional family,” Ruthless! is a spoof on musicals, such as Gypsy and Mame, and classic films like The Bad Seed and All About Eve.
The performance schedule is: September 18, 19, 25, 26 and October 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. There will be a matinee on Sunday, September 27 at 3 p.m. Group tickets are available by calling the box office at 770-241-1905.
