Carrollton, GA. The University of West Georgia Theatre Company pushes on our 2020-2021 Fearless season with Lauren Gunderson's heartfelt and hilarious, poignant play I and You. This play poses challenging questions such as, what is life? How can two people connect in an increasingly separate word? Similar to the story of The Fault in Our Stars, it's a love story centered around two angst-ridden teens, the housebound Caroline and the athletic Anthony, brought together by the unexpected.
This charming, Gen Z battle-of-the-sexes play is worth the ticket! They're polar opposites; He loves poetry, and she hates it altogether. Caroline favors a healthy diet, while Anthony is a Pop-Tart aficionado. However, they have one thing in common: an English project on Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass. In all of 90 minutes, see how these two teens bond and battle while discussing the mysteries of life, with a surprise ending that will rattle you to your core.
I and You will stream from the TCPA Dangle Theatre November 11-15 and 17-20. Ticket prices for the run are Adults: $10, Seniors: $7. To purchase tickets ahead of time, please visit townsendcenter.org, or call 678-839-4722.
