Photo Flash: Beijing Academy’s Kids Camp Presents AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS

Beijing Academy of Performing Arts kids theatre camp presented AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS on August 9, 2014. Thirty student actors, ages 6-14, performed the show. They did all their own acting, singing and dancing. They even made all the sets and costumes. Scroll down for a look at them in action!

The August 9th show was the last of this summer’s kids theatre camps. The student actors did three shows this summer — Little Prince, Dracula, and ’80 Days’.

The next kids theatre camp will be over Christmas holiday, from December 22 to January 3. The students will perform 12 Days of Christmas.

The whole cast of Around the World in 80 Days in the opening number, Victorian Age.  30 student actors performed the show after two weeks of rehearsal.  The student program was produced by Beijing Academy of Performing Arts, children’s theatre presented by Beijing Playhouse.  18 year theatre veteran Ellen Lickman, assistant director on Beijing Playhouse’s main stage production of Snow White, and member of Beijing Playhouse’s artistic advisory board, directed this children’s educational show. Lickman also played the title role in Beijing Playhouse’s 2011 production of Cinderella.
